Schedule and record inspections of stormwater best management practices (BMPs) and green infrastructure.

BMP Inspections

Track inspections of structural and non-structural BMPs, including retention ponds, bioswales, permeable pavement, and green infrastructure.

BMP Inventory

Before scheduling inspections, build your BMP inventory. Go to MS4 → BMPs and add each BMP with:

  • BMP type (retention pond, bioswale, sand filter, etc.)
  • Location (mapped via GIS)
  • Installation date
  • Maintenance responsibility (public or private)
  • Inspection frequency requirement

Recording an Inspection

  1. Go to a BMP record and click + Inspect.
  2. Complete the inspection checklist (condition, sediment level, vegetation, structural integrity).
  3. Upload photos.
  4. Record any maintenance performed.
  5. Set the result: Satisfactory, Needs Maintenance, or Critical.
  6. Click Submit.

Maintenance Tracking

When a BMP inspection identifies needed maintenance, a work order is created. Track completion of maintenance activities and schedule follow-up inspections.
