Signing a Report
Once identity proofing is complete, you can sign compliance reports electronically.
How to Sign
- Navigate to the report you want to sign (e.g., a pretreatment semi-annual report).
- Review the report content carefully.
- Click Sign & Certify.
- Review the certification statement (a legal attestation of accuracy).
- Enter your password to confirm your identity.
- Click Apply Signature.
What Happens After Signing
- A Copy of Record is generated — a tamper-evident PDF with an embedded SHA-256 hash.
- The signature metadata (signer name, timestamp, IP address, hash) is permanently recorded in the audit trail.
- The report status changes to Signed.
- The Copy of Record is stored in the document repository and can be downloaded at any time.
Audit Trail
Every step — from report creation to data entry to review to signature — is logged. The audit trail is immutable and meets 40 CFR Part 3 requirements.
